RE: the pic..."Look into my eyes, my eyes. Relax, you are feeling very sleepy. Now here's your $500 bill for the consultation and referral to another attorney. Please, pay the nice lady on your way out".
I'm glad I didn't look at that picture b4 going to bed last night.
Happy Birthday JOe!
TODAY'S BIRTHDAY (Oct. 13). Progress happens quickly this year. The material resources available to you will multiply through the next eight weeks. Social happenings keep the remainder of 2007 interesting. The action you take in June leads to commitment, money, power and a new residence. You have a special connection with Virgo and Sagittarius. Your lucky numbers are: 8, 40, 32, 14 and 51.
Say...I have a myspace question for anyone that knows anything about it.
Sister Sarah has a site. She added Scott Larsen (local musician) as a friend. Twice now...comments have been added on both Scott's site and Sarah's that I didn't do. One comment was a Macy's ad and one was a Paris Hilton video clip. What's up with that? Help.
Happy BDay Joe! Did you own one of those glasses that Steve Martin invented in The Jerk? I have a question for Algona/Whittemore residents. I see Garrigan won 41-14 last night and then M.E. posts that Joe4 is player of the week. What happened last night? Also ISU hosts Texas in about 15 minutes. The game is broadcast on FSN if you can get it. Bob
I love this picture. Last week my computer at work restarted itself and after it did, every picture and graphic on the web is pixilated and high-contrast pics look almost like a black-and-white impressionist painting. This picture on my computer looks absolutely scary. I had to come home and see it normal. Yeah, real normal.
Happy B-day Uncle Joe. Zane had a great game today, he carried the ball for about 25 total yards and won a first down. He dragged three (bigger) kids about four yards before the ref's blew the play dead b/c of forward progress, but he never went down. He's got some power in those skinny legs of his. Thanks for wishing us a happy anniversary - we celebrated by eating out at Applebee's with all the kids. Some milestone. At least everyone behaved. Ryan's aunt couldn't believe I've put up with Ryan's sh@#! for ten years (her words, not mine). I came out of the school I was working in to find a dozen gorgeous roses in my front seat. Our big anniversary celebration includes plans to scour the entire kitchen together. :)
Way to go, Zane! That's great. :-) Yah, Eli and Liam had their last games on Saturday. Eli has been sick since Thursday when I had to pick him up early for school. Against my better judgement, I let him suit up and go to football yesterday. He attended the 10 o'clock practice, but when the game began at 10:30...it was clear that he wasn't up to it and had to come home. Poor guy. Liam's game went well and they won. Liam and some of his teammates poured water over the Coach's head at the end of the game...but, I think Liam got the brunt of it as he was soaked down to his socks and underwear! Hee, hee.
Eli's back to school today, yet still not 100%. I hope I don't get a call! We'll see. Sunday is Family Game Day here as it is Tom's only day off from work. We played Scrabble. Liam calls it Scamble. Eli came in last place and he didn't get all mad...he must be sick. Ha! Daylight Savings Time is the first Sunday in November...so, extra rest...not, extra work. :-)
Joe IV made a great looking hobo this morning. A stick shaped like a snake with a bag tied to the end to sling over his shoulder, a two sizes too small jacket that he ripped the shoulders apart by doing an Incredible Hulk muscle flex this morning, and an old 40's looking hat. He was unshaven, too, which completed the look.
Thanks, Ellen! Yah, I searched myspace questions and came up with that as a possible solution. I did change it...we'll see. A thought: A few years ago Garrigan had, "Nerd," day as one of their homecoming week dress-up days. It was my (humble) feeling that in light of all the bullying problems (school shootings by children who feel like an outcast and are teased) at High Schools...that perhaps, "Nerd," day wasn't appropriate any longer. I shared (not a formal complaint) this with a friend who is also a BGHS Teacher...she thought I was ridiculous. She laughed at me and said that, "Garrigan doesn't have any nerds and that there isn't any teasing going on." She went on to inquire if I was a, "nerd," in High School and if that's why I had a problem with it. Ha! She proved my point.
People who say Garrigan doesn't have any nerds are so oblivious that there's no use talking to them. Parents can choose to teach their children kindness or they can teach a sort of Darwinian social survival of the fittest, and I think a lot of parents really don't get it. In a related vein, there has been a lot of coverage here about the ticket frenzy for the upcoming Hannah Montana concert. Parents were buying $500-and-up tickets for their 9-year-old girls, and then the promoters reconfigured the stage and were able to sell another couple hundred tickets by a lottery/wristband system. On the news there was a deliriously relieved mom who had stood in line for three hours for a 20-to-1 chance of being allowed to buy tickets and she scored two. She said,"I had to get these or I don't know what would have happened." Guess who's running that household!
I haven't looked at the blog all weekend so I have some catching up to do.
Happy Birthday Joe III. Hope it was a good one. You're doing a great job previewing the BGHS games on the blog. I enjoy reading them.
Way to go Zane! The attack of the Littles does it again. You are truly a mighty mite. Nini and I can't wait to see you play this coming Saturday.
Congatulations Sean! You're doing great.
Maybe ND is saving up some TD's for next week against USC.
Congratulations Joe IV on being "player of the week" last week. Go Golden Bears!
Emily and Scott: Thanks again for your wonderful hospitality and the great time we had while we were there. Don't worry about the diapers and milk. THe next time you are visiting in Omaha/Council Bluffs, you can buy some milk and diapers for us.
Joe II and Mary C, THANKS AGAIN for the tickets.
Thanks Lisa for doing the Christmas exchange list and thanks Pat for publishing it. I already have Nanc's gift picked out.
If I missed anybody or anything, I'll catch you next time, same station.
It is great having a full house again. Lots of family style meals together and I get to tease Mary Laurel and Emma every day.
There was a cute story on the radio today about Hannah Montana trying to buy coffee at Starbucks then realizing she didn't have her credit cards, so she opened up her guitar case and did an impromtu performance. She got $7.
The kids at St. Albert's have to do so many parish/community service hours a year. The kids who can afford to go on an overseas mission trip get to count the hours they spend working.(as they should) Meanwhile, the advisor of the daughter of our maintenance man told her she cannot count the hours she spends here helping him paint, clean, set up for meetings and receptions, etc. as service hours. She doesn't get paid, but he said it's just like helping around the home. I told her I would sign for the hours she spends on any religious-ed-related activity (which could be almost anything)as having helped me, not her dad. That advisor has his head up his pants.

Why isn't 13 one of your lucky numbers? What's a lucky number for the year anyway?
Kick-off for ND is about to commence. Stevo's cooking up hot wings, cheeseburgers and chili. You should all be here.

OK, is there a stupider team name than the Golden Flashes?
Click on the little light in Joe's eyeball for a halloween thrill.
Don't ever get the Kashi Cilantro Lime Shrimp frozen dinner. It looks and taste like vomit.
On that note, happy belated birthday Joe. Hope you don't feel like vomiting today.

I cannot imagine waiting 3 hours in line for a 20-1 chance at purchasing a $50 ticket!

I'll tell you (on 12/26/2007) if you promise not to tell Nanc.
There was a cute story on the radio today about Hannah Montana trying to buy coffee at Starbucks then realizing she didn't have her credit cards, so she opened up her guitar case and did an impromtu performance. She got $7.
That's a good story Ellen and all the people who were there didn't have to pay $350 to $1500 to hear her.
