And Ed... I tried to view the video, but only got a graph with your fall time and descent... lots of blank screen on the video monitor. And on top of that, I went to your guest book - a spot that showed 25 recorded entries, however none for them were for you! At least I was hoping for some good screaming!
Yeah Ed, Scott and I just watched it. Really cool. Who is the girl you were with? Someone you know or just another skydiving student? Maybe I'll do it for my 35th birthday in five years. Did the landing hurt?
Sorry Ed, I tried but it wouldn't work. I got so scared just thinking about it that I peed my pants. Just kidding.
Joe took the kids to Leon yesterday. He even took the dog. I realized that this was the first time since Ellen was born(15 years) that I have been alone over night. I always have a kid with me or Joe or I was visiting someone. It's been wonderful. Slept like the dead. Monica
Emily - How was your birthday? Did you and Scott do anything other than watch my skydiving video. The gal in the video is just this gal that I know that likes to jump out of planes. She was the one that got me to do it. She wanted to do it because it was something she always wanted to do and she was getting lasik sugery. She wanted to do the skydiving BEFORE the lasik becasue she was afraid that if she did it afterwards and her goggles fell of or something that her eyeflaps would re-unattach and she would become blind.
Monica - WOW. For the the rest of you that haven't seen the video - don't worry. This was the most documented event of my life. In addition to the online video I have a DVD, a VHS and bunch of still photos.
It occurred to me over the weekend that the best indicator of how pathetic the Duke football team is is that when a major sex scandal involving men's athletics at Duke happens, its the lacrosse team.
I was not scared in the least. I watched Brokeback Mountain. Found it to be depressing. Then I watched The Squid and the Whale. Another depressing movie but funny at the same time. Went shopping and put grass seed down where I know no grass will grow but yet I will try all summer long to get it to. Did a little weeding and then took a nap. Alas, they all came home shortly after that covered in ticks. Joe only found 1 Morrell mushroom. The ticks were terrible. Bring bug spray if you go down.
I LOVE being home alone although I don't sleep well because of the lack of snoring. But it feels like a little mini-vacation. You do everything just when and how you want to. Ticks on someone else are a small price to pay for that kind of time. Happy Birthday, Emily!
Anyone got a cure for moles? Not on the body, in the lawn. My next-door neighbor uses mothballs but what's the use of a nice lawn if it stinks so much you can't sit outside? Preferably not a toxic chemical. Kitty does her best, but an occasional dead rodent on the doorstep, while gratifying, doesn't begin to solve the problem.
We had a great weekend..Mom and Dad arrived Saturday night, had dinner here, sat on the porch, drank some wine, very relaxing...all the while, over at Jayjack's all their kids and grandkids were arriving for the First Communion and Baptism of the Richardson kids...Sunday was beautiful, great Mass and Baptism, Cathy was mentioned twice and the whole church applauded the mention of her name...she also spoke and gave out gifts to each Communicant. Dad was a Deacon at the Mass and gave Catherine her 1st Communion and Baptized Mia Lenore, then there was a 6 hour party at Jayjacks! This morning, Dad suggested Mom needed to go shopping, so we went to Westroads Mall...2 hours later she walked out with her Iowa summer wardrobe, as her other clothes are in Florida! Then we had a great lunch, and Mom and Dad left for home.
Phelan was accepted to a residency at the Contemporary Artist's Center in North Adams, Massachusetts...we are waiting to hear more about when and where...but she will be playing on stage in Chicago on May 6, 5 or 6 songs, she wrote and performs all the tracks, instrumental and vocal, you can hear it at www.myspace.com/paperrocksissors...you do have to register to hear it.
Joe and Ellen took their BB guns to college, so shooting moles is out (as if I could hit one). Phelan's songs are delightful. I hope the residency thing works out.
Reggie Bush is on the CBS morn. show...is there an investigation into whether USC housed his family while he was there? Hannah tried to get him to talk about that, but he wouldn't.

Yeah - I think you have to have a pretty fast internet connection to view the video. I didn't know there was a guestbook.
Has anybody else been able to see it at all?

Monica,
weren't you a little scared being alone? Just a little?
Why did you feel the need to add "just kidding?" I think you did pee your pants.
Today is the anniversary of the Easter Rebellion of 1916.

and yes very depressing.

Joe shoots with a bb gun.

Sounds like a great time. Sorry I missed it! Also, great news about Phelan. What a talented girl!!!!
What are Caitlin's top options for school?
Has anyone seen Thomas's glasses?
Joe and Ellen took their BB guns to college, so shooting moles is out (as if I could hit one). Phelan's songs are delightful. I hope the residency thing works out.
Coincidentally, I have lost my Gospel of Thomas, on which I have to give a presentation tonight. You have seen Thomas lately, haven't you?
I doubt it
Reggie Bush is on the CBS morn. show...is there an investigation into whether USC housed his family while he was there? Hannah tried to get him to talk about that, but he wouldn't.
I just saw Thomas in church
Playing guitar-he seemed to lurch
Glasses still lost
What will it cost
To play without lurching in church?
Monica
She runs a mile
Wtih a smile
Husband and son not far behind
as calm as the nile
which is as big as the sky
Happy Birthday Emily
Mary, You watch CBS morning show? I thought you watched NBC.
I do not have my BB gun at school!
I"ve switched. Too much of Katie's cleavage and Anne cut her hair!
We've discussed this topic before, but here we see the real-world effect of cleavage prejudice.
Joe must have both BB guns. I can't think of a single good outcome to that unless he hosts mole-shooting contests and the winners come for a visit.
Anne cut her hair for locks of love
is locks still spelled that way in regard to hair?
Yes.
