A friend of mine lives in Richmond. He says both Richmond and VCU is loaded with thugs. He's a fan and he's saying this. Says these teams remind him of the types of players Jimmy Johnson had playing football at Miami.
I asked them if they have any size (because that's what it's going to take to advance from this point forward). He said, "No, but it doesn't matter. They will just beat the crap out of you, foul out and send the next guy in."
I don't know how true any of this is. But kind of interesting.
"The President does not have power under the Constitution to unilaterally authorize a military attack in a situation that does not involve stopping an actual or imminent threat to the nation".
Well, it wasn't unilateral. Not that that makes me any more in favor of it. I'm often taken by surprise at how often all the talking heads and politicians agree on military action as if it were perfectly obvious that that's the only option we have. For example, I would think anyone who suffered during the Vietnam war the way McCain did would be very slow to urge military intervention in another country's affairs. Still, it will be good to see Khaddafi go.
By way of interpreting an inference I think when he said "unilaterally" he meant without confering with congress. Which is what he did in this most recent case.
There were many Americans killed from the Lockerbie bombing...plus he's just gone mad. What is a threat? Do you have a problem with using the Navy Seals to board pirate ships and take prisoners?
While you guys are getting snow and rain up there, we are in the midst of the driest dry season in 80 years. They've just imposed watering restrictions.
So anybody that gets HDnet on their cable (I get it though Comcast) can watch Creighton play Michael Jordon's son and the rest of the Central Florida team in the Semi-Finals of the CBI tournament tonight @ 7.

Iowa legislature considering a bill to make it illegal for a person to get a job at an agriculture production facility (factory hog farm, chicken factory, etc) in order to be able to shoot undercover film. I like it when those videos come out. It is film, and so does reflect actual occurrances. We'll see how the big boy ag lobbies push this one through. Mike and Mary only eat meat that spent it's alive-time frolicking in sun-dappled meadows before being dragged to slaughter, cut up and sliced apart, packaged and frozen (and later unfrozen, cut up some more, placed over a fire and eaten.) Oh yeah, and made into headcheese too.

I am writing to request that you NOT vote for agricultural bill SF 431, or at least not with the current provision that makes it an aggravated misdemeanor to record operations at corporate livestock producer locations. Legislating to improve the safety and security of our food supply is great, but it should not be a criminal offense to provide information to the public about animal welfare. That section of the bill may well be unconstitutional, (I don't know if it is or not) but it certainly reads like a blatant act of kowtowing to big corporate farm interests at the expense of the small producer and of the Iowa citizen's right to be well-informed. Thank you very much for the hard work you are doing on behalf of all the people of Iowa.
Oh, yeah, I guess with the rise of people at home and shows like Jersey Snore and Rental Unit Fracas and Cutthroat Cooks showing ad nauseum the soaps just aren't economically viable any more. They used to be the ad revenue backbone of the networks. Prepare yourselves for 24-hour Lowest Common Denominator Reality.

He sent this Cash family tree to all of you, if you don't get it, let me know.Since he was the one registered it comes under the heading "Lavelle family tree".
I'm gonna study the part of the Cash tree in Virgina and find our connection to Johnny Cash.
Wow, I can't wait to read that ancestry stuff. How come his surname was Cash and not Stewart, I wonder?
Hey, is anyone else shocked to learn that there was only ONE air traffic controller on duty at Washington National Airport when those two pilots had to land without help? Good old Ronnie....
FYI...Mike just sent the finished "product" he has pages and pages of research. The Cash line is well represented on both Ancestry.com and the Mormon site...I think it is very authentic. He couldn't go back vary far at all with parts of his family...altho he found a connection to the Culligan family...which I think is very important. Soft water for Royal skin!
When there was that Cash reunion at the farm a few years back, they were saying that the Cash's were Scots. Mom vigorously denied it and said that Grandpa told her that they were Irish. Is that the right way to do a plural proper noun? Suddenly I can't remember. I feel like the poles have shifted.
The boys and I went to the movie Sucker Punch last night. We all give it 2 thumbs up.
The plot is a weird meld of One Flew Over The Cuckoos Nest, Harry Potter, Charlie's Angels and a good prison break movie.
The acting was mostly average to poor and the special effects were somewhat cartoonish. But overall the original plot and action scenes make this a good show. But a show that should be seen in the theater. Unless you have a huge tv with a massive surround sound system.
Scott took all 3 kids to NE yesterday. They won't be back until Wednesday. I slept in until 8 today and I feel great. I should be tackling some household projects, but I'm not sure where to start. I probably should do my nails first.
Kelli, Joe4, and Betty came up to the Mall of America to do some shopping yesterday and then they came over here and Kelli took us all out for a fun dinner. It was great to see them.
Home from Florida. It was great. Weather was perfect. 80's everyday and sunny. Went to a baseball game with Mom, Dad and Pat. Also out to eat with them and Josh. Aquasized with Mom. Ate at some great places. Ate Spanish,Italian and Peruvian. Also had lots of fish chowders. I think we tried it at almost every place we went to. Drove home through rain, hail, snow and wind. Wish it was 80 here.
So heading into the final four with all of the carnage to everyone's brackets I am still in first place, however it is impossible for me to score anymore points since I didn't pick ONE final four team. Looks like either Frank (UConn) or Cathy (Kentucky) may win.

Aslo - Creighton plays tonight in the first game of the CBI Campionship on HDnet. They are playing the Oregan Ducks for the Championship coached by none other than Dana Altman!
Oh Ellen, You asked what water restrictions look like? Mostly they reduce the amount of water used for landscaping. Down here people water pretty much every day, or every other day until the rainy season. Now it's limited to twice a week. Not a big deal; things will look a bit brown instead of all greeny. I think there are agricultural restrictions as well.
Creighton baseball plays Nebraska on April 19 at the new Ameritrade park and we're going. Well, if we get tickets. They go on sale Monday at 10:00AM thru Ticketmaster - I have no idea if they'll be hard to get or what. We're getting the cheap seats because that's how we roll. I hope it's warm.
Mary Laurel served her first mass yesterday and Emma was in the choir. They were so cute. Emma's almost too tall to call cute but she is becoming so beautiful.
Ohhh that would be a fun game...will that be the 1st game ever played in that new stadium? I saw the Ameritrade guy at Von Maur 2 weeks ago...Ricketts, right? He was shoe shopping.
I see the ND women have made it to the Final Four. Creighton won the 1st in the best of 3 with Oregon tonight and now must play on the awful floor of the Ducks. If anyone wants ot watch ND hockey, you've got a place to stay.

You girls look beautiful, by the way...I love that picture.

Thanks everyone! I pretty much laid around and did nothing all day, except watch basketball. Tonight we'll probably go out to eat somewhere nice.
How was the parade?
Looking forward to seeing Mom and Dad and the Kennedys, or half of them, on Sunday.

Tom, that's a big crib and not remotely true...the civilians fighting the govt. helped our air force pilots to safety when they ejected on Monday.
Greedy Obama wouldn't be bombing these poor people if it weren't for the oil. Baby killer.

As of last night, Caroline can official crawl now. Right now she is crawling around the living room, dancing and rocking to led zeppelin. Today also seems to be the day of ridiculous things at our house. Caroline was awake most of the night, just a little fussy but not sleeping. I finally brought her downstairs at like 4am to watch some tv, which I don't even usually let her watch. In my ridiculously sleepy mind, I decided to let her watch mtv. The middle of the night is the only time they play music videos though. We both ended up sleeping a few hours on the couch.
Then this morning, I was cleaning the bathroom. I always let the hot water run in the shower for a few minutes to rinse it well. This time though, I shut the door while this was going on, for maybe two minutes. Well the steam set off the smoke alarm. Ok, that went off quickly then I heard another alarm and remembered the smoke alarms are connected to our house alarm. I ran downstairs to cancel that. So the alarm company tried to call Andy to verify it was a false alarm. He didn't answer at wrok, so they notified the fire department then called me to check. I explained what happened and they attempted to cancel the the fire dispatch. Well, the fire trucks came anyway. This all happened within like five minutes. I guess it's good in case there was a real fire, but that's a little silly it's so hard to stop a false alarm!
Another ridiculous thing- now Caroline is crawling towards me with two binkies in her mouth.
It does seem strange that you can't cancel a false alarm more easily. Do you get charged for a false alarm if the trucks come?
That Caroline has pretty good taste in music.
Ellen, that's a crazy story!! I bet she looked cute with the 2 binkies.
A crawling baby. Your life is about to get very complicated.

You asked what water restrictions look like? Mostly they reduce the amount of water used for landscaping. Down here people water pretty much every day, or every other day until the rainy season. Now it's limited to twice a week. Not a big deal; things will look a bit brown instead of all greeny. I think there are agricultural restrictions as well.

Wouldn't that be hilarious if I won?
Creighton baseball plays Nebraska on April 19 at the new Ameritrade park and we're going. Well, if we get tickets. They go on sale Monday at 10:00AM thru Ticketmaster - I have no idea if they'll be hard to get or what. We're getting the cheap seats because that's how we roll. I hope it's warm.
Mary Laurel served her first mass yesterday and Emma was in the choir. They were so cute. Emma's almost too tall to call cute but she is becoming so beautiful.
More sports news. Notre Dame men's hockey made it to the Frozen Four. They play in St. Paul on April 7th for you Algonans. You should go up.
Tom
Ohhh that would be a fun game...will that be the 1st game ever played in that new stadium?
I saw the Ameritrade guy at Von Maur 2 weeks ago...Ricketts, right?
He was shoe shopping.
No. The Minnesota Wild Hockey Team has played there for a while. It's probably 10 years old. Nice place.

I see the ND women have made it to the Final Four. Creighton won the 1st in the best of 3 with Oregon tonight and now must play on the awful floor of the Ducks. If anyone wants ot watch ND hockey, you've got a place to stay.
I watched part of that ND women's game last night. They look good.
