So on Friday evening Emma and Mary were playing when tragedy occurred. There was a loud bump then an even louder scream and shortly thereafter a trip to the emergency room.
All reports are that Mary is recovering well, but she has a bruise on her leg and has been placed on the disabled list for her mixed league baseball team while she rehabs.

Emma and Mary were playing tag in the house.
Mary tripped just as Emma was tagging her. Unfortunately she was near that two chairs/round table combo we have in the living room and the drawer on the table had been left open (Mary did that!) She thinks she hit only the chair leg and the floor, Emma thinks she hit the table, chair leg and floor.
Today she looks A LOT worse. Her right eye is almost shut, the bruises are darker and she had some oozing in her right eye. I called the Dr. again and they said to check her after lunch and call them. I think the pressure from the swelling on her eyes is hurting her.

OOOHHHH Mary! Hope you're feeling better soon! I once had 2 black eyes and a trip to the ER too (softball injury). Try putting a cool compress on your eyes when your head hurts.
It was so cute when Mary came home from the emergency room. Emma rushed to her and they were hugging as Emma said, "I'm sorry I pushed you" and Mary said, "That's OK, it was my fault too. Mom said you said a prayer for me - thanks" and they kissed each other. For real. I don't think Emma really pushed her, just tagged enthusiastically. She told us the whole story in detail while we were waiting for Mary & parents to come home. Mary was really cool - not hamming it up, just draping herself gracefully on the lounge chair to accept her ice bags - one for her head and one for her leg.
Even all banged up...Mary is still a beauty!
Hey, where did Joe IV decide to go for college?
He decided not to go because he really likes his summer job and wants to make a career of it!
I think Joe IV decided to go to South Palatine Community College in the Northwest Suburbs of Chicago. Or was it Notre Dame? I can't remember.
