Happy BIrthday Danny! Has anyone else noticed that more often than not, our b-day pictures include a drink?

Belated wishes to Gillian. Braces for your birthday? No fair.

How is Mary recovering? Be sure to get lots of pictures of her.

I'll toast you all ASAP. I was supposed to be induced tomorrow, but they've changed it to Tuesday morning. I would have loved to have had the guy share a birthday with Gillian, or Mom or Danny or Brianne, but it doesn't look like it's gonna happen. I had hoped to have the house spotless before bringing home baby, but that is clearly not happening. I have noticed that I do a lot of sweeping lately and I think I understand Mary E better now. It's not that she loves sweeping, she MUST sweep. Who wants the crumbs in the kitchen tracked all over the rest of the house?

Yesterday, Tom took the boys-3 to "Up" along with our neighbors...Liam's friend and Donny's friend. They thought it was really good. I think Eli & Tom liked it the best. My sister and her sister-in-law saw it Saturday and they both thought it was awful...hmm.

I sat through 7 soccer games this weekend. Tom's team won second place. He's a scrapper. Peter's didn't place. Needless to say I am sunburned.

Sean has oral surgery this morning. We go to the surgeon then rush over to the orthodontist for him to do something or other and then back to the surgeon to put in stiches. Not so much fun for Sean.

All the birthday pics include drinks because our family knows how to celebrate! (Most of them are from Ellen's wedding)

Happy 23rd Birthday Danny! With two more months of experience than you, I can tell you that being 23 feels pretty much the same as 22. I admit I had to count back twice just now because I couldn't remember how old I am. Ha, we celebrated Andy's 23rd birthday two years in a row! He somehow went from 23 to 25 last year.

Speaking of drinks, I recently and accidentally discovered cucumber is great in beer, but look at this: http://www.marthastewart.com/goodthings/summer-sips. I want to try beet-cucumber vodka.

Ellen, I often ask for cucumber in my water instead of a lemon wedge. It's refreshing!

I asked Joe for a baby goat for my birthday and he got me some delicious chive blossom chevre as part of my present! Close enough for city dwellers, I think.

Good luck tomorrow, Emily!

...I just ran out of crackers and am eating this cheese (from Knoxville) off my finger. Yum!

Happy Birthday, Danny! I remember when you were a baby - seems like no more than 22 or 23 years ago.

Happy Birthday Brianne,
I love goat cheese too. I bet baby goats taste good also. Even if they are cute.

I love love love goat cheese too. It's really good in a salad with walnuts and dried cranberries.

Happy Birthday Brianne.

In the summer I often fill a pitcher with water and throw in a few slices of cucs and lemon and keep it in the fridge. I drink a lot more water that way.

Here's a good goat cheese salad for your birthday Brianne:

arugula
pickled beets
goat cheese or blue cheese
candied walnuts
balsamic vinaigrette

I sweep as preventative maintenance...plus it's relaxing...
The ALGONA TOUR OF HOMES was yesterday...We had 223 people come through our home! All the homes had 200 plus...

toss the pickled beets (blech) from that salad, substitute dried cranberries and a cranberry vinnegrette (raspberry will do too).

happy birthday Danny and Brianne.

I like pickled beets not fresh beets.

I'm going to start taking wallpaper down in my foyer tomorrow. Anyone want to come help?

"Finn Mac Cumhail was legendary Irish 3rd century hero similar to the English Robin Hood. His warrior-followers were named Finians."

Are we still suggesting names? I vote for naming him after our cousin Eamon. Eamon James Guilliatt.

Finn will be a thumbsucker cause that's where the salmon burned him.

Congrats Emily, Scott, and Boys! Welcome little Finn!

I got to watch the first few innings the Garrigan vs. BGM baseball game today at Sec Taylor Field right after the ICub game. Ok, I was mostly cleaning up the suites in left field, but when I did pay attention it looks like they got in some good hits! That would be so cool to play on a minor league field in high school!
