Yes, Tom. Tell us all about it!

Everyone, we are having a party here June 15th. The occasion is for Finn's birthday, but really that's just an excuse to have a party for adults too. We've rented a jumpy house for the yard- hope it fits! If anyone wants to come up and have a few drinks and let the kids jump the night away let me know. We will make room for any and everyone!

yes it is true. We are moving back to the homeland of my children...Minnesota.

I've taken a job with the Casino I used to be the Executive Chef for. This time I will be the F&B Director.

You may recall that this is located in a small town in the SW part of the state, Redwood Falls. We really didn't like Redwood when we lived there before. It's like Algona only without much character. Those rural 5th, 6th generation Scandinavians are pretty dour and boring to be around.

We looked for a more sizeable town between Redwood and Minneapolis to live in but there really isn't anything at all. Once you leave Jordon there is nothing till you get to Sioux Falls.

So we think we will be looking to buy a house in a town called Willmar. Or an town next to it called Spicer. These two towns are what Mason City and Clear Lake are to each other both in size and distance.

Based on the internet it is a resorty area, yet lake front is still cheap. We are hoping to find a deal. If not, we will still find a nice house. Overall real estate is very reasonable.

Willmar is about 20,000 ppl including 4000 Hispanics and 500 Somalis. So this is an interesting dynamic.

If anyone knows anything about Willmar or Spicer, please let us know. We want to choose the right place to live.

Once we are settled you are all welcome to visit.

Tom.

Exciting!
Looks like a good place to live. Not too tiny. But a good mix of people.
Small enough that you'll know your kids friends and parents but big enough to offer things to do.

Monica

PS- I like your list of likes.

Exciting! Congratulations.

Last week a meth addict mom stole her kids out of foster care in Monona County and was thought to be headed towards Spicer MN but she got caught before she hit the state line. So it must be a nice place to go to.

Just teasing, you know. Spicer sort of reminds me a little bit of Fremont NE - nice smallish sized town with a pretty lake. Not a bedroom community, but one with its own identity.

Meth addicts can make pretty good employees if you secure the cash and valuables.
