Have a safe trip. You'll be lucky enough to just miss all the crazy Hawkeye fans.
The sports columnist from the Register, Sean Keeler, said that NFL Films was trying to shoot something on the beach in Ft. Lauderdale and inebriated Iowa fans kept walking into the shot.
It would be cool to be just talking to someone and have an iguana fall out of a tree at your feet. Providing it wasn't dead or injured and providing it didn't actually fall ON you.
So, did Mom and Dad get off OK and land without unwelcome adventures?
Lisa got in an icy road accident yesterday with the girls in the car, but nobody was hurt. Car's not good but she was able to drive it home. Catie was with them and said after that first moment of silence Mary said, "That was wicked!" Be careful, sisters, that's two.
Why is it that the decision to reorganize and get rid of the clutter always involves getting some new stuff? All those plastic storage bins look so delicious in the Sunday ads. Don't you just imagine your basement or closet shelves lined with carefully labeled color-coordinated totes or bins? Can't you see yourself strolling over to your filing cabinet and pulling out just the sheet of paper you want? Or going to your gift-wrapping center and finding it fully stocked with paper, ribbon, tape and scissors that never disappear? Or knowing right where that obscure, use-once-every-ten-years tool is? That's gonna be me. As soon as I buy some more stuff to get organized with.
I was in Target the other day and saw an old orthodox jew man buying a whole bunch of christmas colored storage bins that were on clearance. Made me laugh.
I just came downstairs from a shower and saw Sam throwing a steak knife he took out of the dishwasher. Finn was on the floor. Aparently Finn was in charge because Daddy was watching football. I am happy to report no one was injured. And to be fair, Sam has pulled stuff from the dishwasher in my watch too.
It's time to sign up for the Whittemore Chili Cook-Off Contest!!! It's next Saturday the 16th...come one come all!! Mmmm warm chili and Whittemore fogs...puhleeze someone come and help us beat the Ruhnke boys and that guy from Billie Jo's!!!
We don't need Duff Beer cozies (however good the idea) because we have Warner Bros. glassware! Just a few, but we'll fill in with Coke and A & W glassware.
Lisa
Creamed spinach, anyone? Many thanks to Ed for the perfect recipe and just in time, too.
Lisa, can I bring some hassenpfeffer? Just a little so everyone can have a taste. I ventured to HyVee on Madison and bought two wabbits. And one bunch of long skinny carrots with the foliage still on, just for looks. I passed on the Limburger cheese - too expensive.
I have the limburger cheese. Can use the carrots! Due to the car event and the snow I can't get out and about like I would like. Bring on the hassenpfeffer, too! Ed said we needed it!
Here's or menu so far: wabbit, spinach, carrots, white castle sliders, hot dogs (or brats?), misc. crudets and such, cream pies, limburger cheese, swiss cheese & cheese with crackers. Beer, wine, and sodas such as root beer, cream soda, grape pop, etc.
Do ya still want pancakes? I am thinking of getting those frozen silver dollar pancakes, heating them and stacking them as high as I can.
The cartoon food is limited to Warner Bros-era cartoons, i.e. spinach and hamburgers(Popeye) and anything related to Bugs Bunny. This is a small dinner to get together and yuk it up with a video of Bugs Bunny's greatest hits. It's for people over 45 plus Emma and Mary. Lisa and Randy are hosting Stevo, me and Fr. Dan, who owns the cartoons. We just thought it would be funny to have cartoon food. But not Garfield. I hate Garfield, even though I love lasagna.

Well, Florida will welcome Mom and Dad with lows in the high 30s tonight.
P
That's better than highs on the high 0's.
I heard that iguanas in Florida were "freezing" (I guess they can't stand anything lower then 40) and falling out of the trees.
Is this true? Sounds creepy.
that would be fun.
It is true, though I've not yet seen it.
p

Was he throwing it because he knew he wasn't soposed to have it? That's what Oscar would do.
Get him a Nerf steak knife.
did he hit what he was aiming at? did it stick?

You will be eating off of divided trays.

I think you need giant turkey legs. ANd some Krabby Patties. What is this for? It sounds like a lot of work.
Lisa,
What is the status of your car? What exactly happened?
p
Dagwood liked big sub sandwiches.
Garfield liked to eat lasagna.
You could have some apples from Sleeping Beauty and some spag and meatballs from lady and the tramp.
Of couse you could have a big wad of meat, fries and a shake and it would be Aqua Teen Hunger Force.
Lots of cartoons are actually commercials for food like Snap Crackle and Pop, but I don't think that is what you are going for...
Oh - and you could make some cookies in the shape of milkbone dog biscuits and call them scooby snacks.
Pete and Mely how did you celebrate?
