We had Tom's birthday party this morning as he,Joe and Sean are going skiing right after school and he couldn't wait until tomorrow for his gifts. He got a new electric guitar, a playstation game and Fender T-shirt. When we brought the guitar out he whispered softly, "sweeeet". Then he didn't eat his breakfast which I got up at 5am to make for him. He requested sourcream and raisin pie and ethiopian food for dinner. He's getting the pie not the food.
The Seafood Sausage is astounding. I added some smoked paprika when I made the mixture yesterday. Was a little worried because it seemed way too smokey right after I put it it. But today it is really mellow.
I did a test poach of the sausage just now. You would swear you are eating flavored butter. Really rich but there is not added fat to this. Just shrimp, scallops, a wee bit of cream and seasonings.
Who's going to be around Algona this week? Jen and I will be there from the 20th to the 23rd and then we go to motherland for one day before heading down to Florida to see Jen's family.
Is there no one Obama and the democrats won't bend over for just to get some sort of healthcare bill passed? In no way is this a reform bill. All it does is throw more people on a sinking ship.
Took the kids to Avatar last night. Also, took the neighbor kids and met Joe4 & Betty at the theater.
The consensus is positive. I recommend it for the whole family. The neighbor kid said that people are saying that this is the next Star Wars. I can see it...revolutionary and spectacular special effects (more than just explosions & fight scenes) and a compelling story line. Not an original story line but still compelling.
Gotta go set up para una reunion de las clases de educacion religiosa. How can you get Spanish punctuation on your computer, anyone know? I'm painstakingly writing documents and printing them and then adding in accents and squiggles by hand. (upside down exclamation point) No es bueno!
Just used my new shark steam pocket mop on the tile in the kitchen. It is def. easier than mopping. I kind of miss the smell of the cleaners though. I'd do my wood floors now if the kids would just keep watching TV.
