I have a lot to be thankful for his Holiday season.

Thanks to Emily for the Snuggies.
Thanks to Granny and Grandpa for the check.
Thanks to Frank for masochistic games.
Thanks to my parents for a nice place to crash.
Thanks to Jim for the CD.
Thanks to the Pub for being open.
Thanks to the bartender at Billy Jo's for not carding Danny who forgot his ID.
Thanks to Glogg.
Thanks to my liver and kidneys who stood their ground in the face of extreme adversity.
Thanks to Ed for never taking a flattering pic of anyone.
Thanks to my sisters who never read this thing but I have to thank just in case they do.
Thanks to Curly Girl for not losing her sh*t with all those people around.

If I forgot to thank anyone, I thank you for understanding.

Happy Birthday Frank and Deb.

Illinois Gov. Sonovabitch has named his pick for new U.S. Sanator! Wonder if this guy will be approved.

Happy Birthday Deb! Happy Birthday Frank! Any birthday plans or New Year plans?

Frank, your game is on the coffee table at Mom and Dad's. Ed, your inflatable bed is in the dining room at Mom and Dad's. There is a bag with some books (I think) in the nice bedroom at Mom and Dad's. I didn't try any of them out when I was there.

Ed, is your car OK? Did you get home without mishap?

We're going to have Mia overnight on New Year's Eve. CB now has a city celebration called First Night with all kinds of entertainment venues, including a kid's fun stuff party in City Hall, various musical (blues, rock, choral, bluegrass, anything you want)and storytelling places, followed by a kid's parade to Bayliss Park, followed by fireworks and a bubble-wrap stomp for the kiddies. Very inventive, cheap fun. The whole thing goes on till midnight, but there's a natural take-the-kids-home point at 9:00. So that's what we're doing.

Great Christmas! We had 2 fun nights in Omaha with all 3 of our kids and Mike's family, then up to Algona and the kids stayed for 4 more nights...2 great meals and fun at Mom and Dad's...it was great to see everyone there...Molly's family spent the night at our house the 26th, it was great...soup supper at our house the 27th with a big group of Straub's...Then on the 28th our kids made dinner for Mike and I (delicious crab cakes, salad and couscous)...they stayed an extra day because of interest in the POW Museum, which we then visited...it's impressive...It was a wonderful Christmas!

google..."silent night in algona"...movie in the works about the POW's and the Nativity...they have Buzz Aldrin to play the Algona Mayor...Natalie Woods sister is cast as well as Ron Howard's Dad!

So who wants to see the fearsome Creighton Bluejay basketball team dismantle Bradley? The game is at Bradley in Peoria IL, about an hour from the quad cities, Saturday Jan 10th. 7 pm tipoff. I know Ed is up for the game. I believe Cathy & Steve and the Ortega clan may be as well.

Any one interested please let me know and we'll get tickets. We also have room for people that don't want to drive home for hours on end after a night game.

Creighton is 11-2, 1-0 in conference and among other receiving votes in the polls. The braves crushed CU by about 40 points in Peoria last year. they need some more blue in the crowd!

I'm interested. Will you throw in a plane ticket with your ticket purchases? p

Last night I had a reuben and fries at Sarah's (thanks Mom and Dad) I think I'll have a Martini tonight!

We're having josh's coworkers over for dinner. I just found out last night and we haven't cleaned since b4 we left for mexico. We're just grilling burgers and brats and then I've made a greek pasta salad and am making german potato salad.
So, I've been at my new job a total of 7 work days. This one woman talks about how busy she is, and I have randomly caught her playing a computer game 3 times already. And, I've only been in her office like 7 or 8 times.

My favorite New Year's Eve story...A couple years ago...Phelan going into the kitchen at M's (in Omaha's Old Market) and asked for some pots and pans then went outside and banged them at Midnight...people loved it...

I've noticed that people who talk about how busy they are, are usually doing the lest.

Happy New Year everyone! My New Year's Eve was pretty boring. Our neighbors invited us over to their house. Jude and I went and Scott stayed home with Sam (who is running a fever again.) ANyway, the only people I knew there were the neighbors. They had some nice, interesting friends, but it's just not really the way you want to spend New Years - sober and talking to strangers. One guy at the party lived and worked in Tanzania with Jane Goodall. The neighbors are kind of health food nuts, so I couldn't even really have fun by gorging myself on food. (Not that healthy food can't be tasty - you know what I mean)Jude kept asking for soda and ccokies and I felt like a bad mom because he didn't want to eat whole wheat crackers and water.

Happy Birthday Frank and Deb! How did you guys celebrate? Or did you have enough Whittemore Fogs to carry you through your birthday?

We had our office Christmas party at our house last night...it went well...
Some fun football outcomes...Ole Miss/Texas Tech...Utah over Alabama!! Does Utah have a claim to #1??

Gossip...very sad about Jett Travolta...there are questions tho...he was last seen going into the bathroom Thursday night, and wasn't found untill 10 Friday morning...he was a special needs child, why didn't anyone "tuck him in" Thursday night??? Just asking.

Good morning. We slid to Mass last night and we hope you have had a safe trip to Mass today. We decided to forego the BGHS-Algona game last night because of the ice covered roads and sidewalks and now we are sorry because BGHS won in overtime. Joe4 had four points, several rebounds and played good defense before he fouled out. We are writing this to let you know that we are leaving for Florida very early this coming Tuesday. Our phone # there is 561 745 0459. We plan to be home at the end of March but have made no definite plans.
Have a nice winter.
