Happy Birday Danny. Become a member of the century club!

Hey - does anybody know what order of priest Uncle Father Bob is?

Anonymous said...

oh danny boy, the pipes the pipes.. oh wait, that's not a birthday song. happy birthday Danny.

i think he's (Uncle Bob) a member of the Redemptorist Order...

Funny. I sort of sang Danny Boy to the girls yesterday and told them it was about soldiers going to war and that the people at home would miss them.

Happy birthday Danny Boy! My birthday wish for you is no wars!

Good thinking, Frank! Yes, a Redemptorist started by somebody Ligouri, which is why we sometimes get Ligourian magazine from Dad.

Parish Hilton is already out of jail. That rich with nothing to do crowd needs a job like picking up rocks for Chuck Behr.

Happy Birthday, Danny! Whatcha get? Hope your day is great! :-)

Ed - I'll take a case of Straub and of Straub lite.

Cathy...when did Dad call? We were staying at their house, and there were 3 hang-up phone calls...we thought that was suspicious!
Tom...I thought you knew...I'll be better abut calling ahead!

Desmond flew to New York today to receive an "Effie" award for his Beef commercials...Effie means how effective (in sales) and creative the spots are!

Danno the mano (that's Italian for Danny Boy)

Hope you have fun, oh...

I planted flowers in 2 of Mom's planter boxes...if anyone is over that way, could you stop and water??Thanks!

Anonymous said...

hey M.E., i'll get right on that.

Anonymous said...

That's what I was thinkin'! Ha, ha. I could mention it to my friend in Whittemore...she may do it in exchange for a Gift Cert! :-)

Anonymous said...

No..don't bother doin that, I just thought if you were nearby at a ball game, like the other day you were in Emmetsburg, well, their house is 5 blocks off your route...or if you're in Whittemore to buy meat at the new sausage haus..or having a Whittemore fog!

Anonymous said...

I always think of Algona/Whittemore as sort of the same community...when we were there the other day we made 3 trips into Algona in less than 24 hours.

Anonymous said...

We'll try! :-) Tom and my Dad are going to Liam's game, in Emmetsburg, tonight and my Mom and I are going to Eli's game in Algona. I'll mention it to him. ;-)

Baseball...takes on a whole new meaning when your children are playing. Fun games, tonight, with Grandma and Grandpa. :-)
Eli said, "Mom, when I'm hitting...I use a different stance each time the pitcher throws the ball, I like to mix things up and confuse him."

If God wells inside us, like some people say, I sure hope He likes enchiladas, because that's what He's getting tonight.

So, I'm having Donny come over this evening for an overnight stay. I was going to get him a bit early today (2ish) bc I have to drop him off early tomorrow a.m. But they are STILL IN SCHOOL!! Is this normal? Are other schools still in school?

Oh yah...my friends kids, in Savage, have their last day today.

Anonymous said...

There's a town called Savage?

I'm certain God like enchiladas, but I think He prefers chicken to beef!

Anonymous said...

Pat....what do you have planned for Donny? Staining the fence?

Anonymous said...

I know...funny eh? Many years ago, when my sister first moved there and it was in the early years of it becoming a community...there was some discussion regarding whether or not the good people of Savage wanted their kids to be called, "Savage school children." However, the community flourished and it became too late.

Anonymous said...

I don't wanna stain the fence.

Anonymous said...

It's a savage nation.

Anonymous said...

It is not savagable.

We made a tee decision. We are buying crew neck tees in both orange and natural...and, ladies spaghetti strap tank tops in orange. The screen is black and it's way cool. We're gonna use our design from 2003...can't believe it's been that long! Just gotta decide if we should put the year on it. The peeps like it...but, not sure we wanna take the chance of, "eating," the 2007's that don't sell...IF they don't. Yah know? Hmm. In fact, we have a few black ones from before that we can sell this year because they aren't dated. Of course, the only size left is 3X...so, our customer pool is small (oxymoron?). I tried to copy/paste it to share the cool design...but, it won't work.
So...a year? Or, no year? That is the question.

I think we're going to hear some live music tonight. Every night in June outside Orchestra Hall (called Peavey Plaza) they have live bands playing. It's called Live After Five and it's all types of music (except classical - mostly variations of rock or alt). It's free and they set up beer and food vendors and stuff. There's a cool waterfall and tables and steps to sit on, so we're going to try that out tonight. Don't know if Donny will go for it, but I will.

That sounds great...I bet there will be alot of kids, there are always here for jazz on the green. We always sneak in our own wine! But, you don't want to have to call Dee from jail!

Anonymous said...

Joe...is that your dead squirrel case in the news? If so, congrats, you beat the co. atty!

Anonymous said...

Liam and Eli were in the paper for the fishing competition on Smith Lake, last Saturday.
Pat~ Sounds like fun!

Anonymous said...

Happy Birthday Danny! Hope you had fun. Will I see you over Labor Day?

Anonymous said...

I don't think Danny reads the blog.

Anonymous said...

Yes-I take credit for the dead squirrel outcome, good for everyone involved except the squirrel.
I don't think Tom's making thoses posts. They're too gloomy and wierd. Tom's the kinda gut where it's always a beautiful day and we should wrap ourselves in rainbows and sing kumbaya.

Well, the spaghetti strap tanks we ordered in orange are all out. We ordered Fuchsia instead. :-)
We ordered 254 shirts and 20 are for employees/us. That means we need to sell 234...I think we can. We almost did in 2003. We did decide to put a year on it and we think that's a good decision. If you are in town and wanna buy one they are $15/per or 2 for $25! Oh and yah get a free tap beer with every purchase! WooHoo! We decided not to do a cup/re-fill promo. Too much out lay and uncertain of its' benefit. Hmm.

Danny wants to thank you all for your birthday wishes. He's 21 now so Deb and I took him to a bar to buy him a drink. (a legal one) People kept buying him drinks so he got a pretty good buzz going by the time we left. Then a small party at home with friends, pizza, cake and whiskey. While at the bar I found out that he had neglected to pay the insurance on his car, so I told him I would pay it and that would be his birthday present. Boring but nessesary, I guess. Anyway we had fun and it was a good day. This is off subject but if anyone is going to the ISU-Kent State game before Labo Day I have two tickets I won't be able to use. If you want them, call me and I'll get them to you, Bob

Isn't this Paris coverage ridiculous? I am going crazy, but I can't turn it off. Now they're holding her in downtown LA. Apparently the sheriff said he is keeping a close eye on her because he believes she could be a harm to herself. But this morning when all the press was in front of her house a party rental truck pulled up with chairs, space heaters, etc because Paris was planning on having a party tonight. How sick can she really be?

Bob,

I will take those Kent/ISU tix off your hands. And I'll take Ed as my date (as I am sure to get some action). Let me know how much and I will send a check. Or maybe you can have Art+ charge my card.

Frank, when are you going to the farm?

Des.

Last night we went to this outdoor concert(as I said) and it was hilarious. The band was bluegrass and the crowd was mostly hip downtown just off of work people. Donny started dancing Irish style, arms behind his back, and then he and Josh went to the front of the band and were dancing like lunatics, copying one another and I was so happy no one could see I was with them. Someone was recording them and Donny thought they might be on the news. They were the only people dancing.
P

Anonymous said...

Pat...that's SO cute...Donny is a great Irish dancer (last Christmas)...Jigging Josh, the bluegrass stepper!

Bob, are you guys coming to the farm for Labor Day?

Anonymous said...

Happy Birthday to Danny, don't drink and drive. But, now that it's legal, drinking just isn't the same.
Pat, NC is beautiful. Really beautiful. I bet Josh and Donny had a lot more fun than the people standing around watching them and commenting they would never make such a fool of themselves.
Paris Hilton - what a waste of time. Don't you think people who live in Hollywoodland live in some skewed alternate reality? By the way, has anyone seen the Starter Wife with Deborah Messing? I saw the first show. I like her. I don't know how I feel about the show yet.

How was the Enchilada Special?

OK, I have to turn off the computer, I'm thinking of searching for Paris Hilton news...Emily, she had planned on having a catered party her first night on house arrest???

As much as I wanted her to go back to jail...the sentence, in the first place, seemed extreme...now, they should fire or charge the sheriff who let her out a few days ago...do you think he was going too be compensated by the family?
She does sorta look pretty when she cries:-)

I think a hat that has a little cannon that comes out and shoots and goes back in is at least a decade away.

Tom

Anonymous said...

Does the cannon see it's shadow?

We talked to Mom and Dad yesterday...sounds like they're having a great time! It hasn't rained once since they arrived, so the weather has been grand...they took a boat trip out to Skellig climbed a bit and mingled with the puffins...went north to where St. Patrick is buried, and also found a street named after Joe Kennedy's relative (begins with an H).

I bet it's in the slums..

Monica (with Tom and Peter)was here this weekend, and we dined with the Jayjack's and Molly's family...Steve gave Monica a video he made of the painting weekend...thanks again to all who worked SOOO hard. The video is very interesting, the house looks so great, even just with primer.

One of Caitlin's friends had a bad accident Friday night...fell down a flight of stairs and is in a coma, first with no body movement to stimuli...but she moved her legs a bit yesterday...they put her back on the respirator last night..Fr. Roc O'Connor annointed her yesterday. So please pray for her, Julianne O'Keefe.

In the past two days we have planted:
2 clematis...or, is it clematie?
1 climbing rose
1 spiral evergreen
2 azalea
2 red barberry
3 yellow somethings
1 green w/ yellow stripes something
We're bushed! Ha, ha. :-)

Anonymous said...

clematis? sounds like a social disease.

Des, I do not know when i'm going to the farm. haven't planned that far ahead...

Anonymous said...

How sad about Caitlin's friend. :-( Where was she and how did it happen? I will place her on my Mom's all-powerful (yes, more than Monica) prayer chain and keep her in my prayers as well.

Anonymous said...

Frank~ If that's what she told you...I would go to the Doctor.

Roc O'Connor does a great and healing anointing, asking family members to participate and lay hands on the sick person if they wish...it's very powerful and I'm sure it was comforting to the family. Any news on the girl?

I finally have internet again! Don't have high-speed yet but our phone lines were out and it took Cox TWO days to get out here.

I love it when Josh dances with a kid. It's sort of like watching a lightning storm.
