These pictures are from when we visited Minneapolis last summer. As you can see, Mia and Jude had a fine time together. We had a small party for Mia and some cousins and friends on Sunday. Tomorrow the Grandparents are coming over for dinner and cake. Mia requested macaroni-and-cheese and bacon sandwiches for dinner. Here is what she had on her birthday list: brown boots, a matress pad (to make her bed softer), a suitcase, a blue flashlight, and some games for Nintendo DS. Hee Hee!

Happy Birthday Mia and Jude! What does Jude want for his birthday. Mia, I like your list. Very reasonable request. I hope you get your mattress pad.

Mmmmmm, can't wait for that mac'n'cheese, and what could go wrong with bacon involved? Happy Birthday, Mia!

Happy Birthday, Jude! I knew you when you were very, very young.

Small sign of sanity from the Unicameral. Apparently the bill allowing teachers to carry concealed weapons in school is meeting with a cool reception.

Maybe the groundhog was right?

Had Mia asked for a sleeping bag instead of a mattress pad...based on her list...I would have worried she was planning a "secret trip." Ha!
Happy Birthday Jude & Mia! You're both so cute and fun! :-)

What's in the pool...other than Jude & Mia?

The pool is full of dirty/muddy water. They made a puddle at the bottom of the slide that they slid into and hopped over and then "rinsed off" in the pool which obviously became dirty. They had so much fun!

Jude wants a puppy and a Wii and he knows he's not getting either. But he is getting some other kind of Star Wars video game that plugs into the TV. It was pretty cheap so I am not sure how good it will be but the reviews on Amazon were good. And Scott's pretty excited about it. He's also getting some books and I am taking him and a friend to see the Babe production at the Children's theater next week. And he's getting ice skating lessons. That's something he says he really wants. Scott is going to his school to read to his class today, and tonight he has basketball and tomorrow morning he has soccer.

Happy Birthday to MIA! Jude wants you to come back again this summer and play Chop Chop Timber! He actually wants all his cousins to come, go to a Twins game, and sleep out in tents in the yard. So...open invitation if anyone is interested.

Em-
We have a Wii the boys do not use. I "think" it works. If it does and the boys give the "green light"...we'll mail it to you!

Tom, do you have a Big Red headache?

Oh no. It hasn't started snowing yet but we're supposed to get 10-14 inches of snow today. Boo hoo. At least no bitterly cold temps.

Look at this day in history: The Barbers of Seville opening sounds just like the current Spiderman production.

So Friday we went swimming at the downtown Omaha Y because ours has been under repair all week. After a good strenuous swim, we were walking out and Stevo said, "So what shall we do for dinner, go home and fix fish and salad or go to Mama's for pizza and beer?" We killed 2 pitchers, a medium pizza and an order of fries and an order of wings. Oh, that Stevo.

Mom, that sounds like a great date!

no work today, the school is closed for President's Day, and thanks to the snowstorm Hamline cancelled all classes, so no class tonight. I got me a free day.
