Happy Birthday Cathy! Try not to run into Mel Gibson today. I don't think he's in a good mood.

About Mel...his Dad was half Nazi, so he had the anti-Semite upbringing in his sub-conscious and it came out when he was drunk...
and then he learned the N word from his friend Danny Glover.
Also I think it was nice that he didn't call his wife a whore in front of the child, he just said that she looked like a pig in heat.

So what if his dad was like that. That doesn't make what he said and did ok.

I already posted this in Facebook: Thank you, thank you. For my birthday, I'm going to convince mel Gibson to join another church. Maybe with a bat upside the head (another of his edifying pronouncements) Then we'll go to the Upstream for dinner.

I'm working like crazy on this upcoming bible school/day camp. We have to build and paint the set tomorrow and Thursday, meet with all team leaders and crew leaders as well as teen volunteers, get out the last parent letter TODAY and go shopping and buy 20,000 glue dots plus assorted odds and ends. But I'm going to go out and have a nice birthday night tonight and then start freaking out tomorrow. Mel better stay out of my way.

Happy birthday to everyone I missed and congrats to the new parents!!

But, seriously mom, you're defending Mel Gibson??? Are you sure you've listened to those recordings, because they are really disgusting. You can still love Braveheart without condoning Mel!

They are demo-ing the basement! Stevo called last week before we left for the wedding and complained that they had lifted the house and then left it sitting there next to a nice deep kid-magnet basement hole, so the next day they brought a big digger over and parked it for a week. Then an hour ago, the earth shook. They are tearing out the basement walls and floor and they say they're bringing in dirt tomorrow. Yay! Maybe this house will actually someday be moved.

So in Kyle Korver's first interview (just after being handed his new Bulls jersey) he said that he didn't like Michael Jordan and thought that he was selfish.

I think that is right on and pretty funny, but he isn't going to win any fans in Chicago that way.

Doesn't that feel good, Pat?

I didn't do much but feed a little piggy and watch Cops. Caroline is doing well though and has to be close to 9lbs by now. I think she'll be ready for a visit to Algona for RAGBRAI.
