The top 6 people all have a team that has lost winning the National Championship. Scott has UConn winning - he is the highest scoring player with a chance of picking the winner. In fact - there are only 3 people who still have a chance of picking the winner.

Happy Birthday Donny - hope you had a good one.

Happy Birthday Donny! What did you do for your birthday weekend?

Ohhh, we sign everything and take over our house on Wednesday. I'm very excited to finally be in the house, and be able to unpack. Our apartment looks a little crazy right now. Even though there are boxes stacked up everywhere, it doesn't look like we're moving out. It just looks messy and is driving me crazy.

Tom and Nance had a surprise party for Don on Sunday...had his favorite ribs at Sr. Sarah's and then pool fun at AmericInn...Mike and I could not attend because we went to CB/Omaha to see Uncle Bob..license Caitlin's car and take Mom and Dad's car to Jayjack's (Mom and Dad fly in on Tuesday)
Thanks to Lisa and Randy for a great overnite stay!!
The Jayjack's are hosting Uncle Bob and 2 nuns from his Order, plus Steve's mom, who came for the Mission and then Mom and Dad will stay there (so they can visit with Uncle Bob)...they had a big Polish dinner on Sat. night and luncheon on Sunday, and a turkey dinner Sunday night! Lisa and Randy will serve dinner tonight. Uncle Bob had a great Mass on Sunday, Catherine was a server and the Milbrath's brought up the gifts, it was very nice!
When we returned to Algona, brother Don spent the night, we had a great visit!

Yes, Donny had an awesome Party with like 20 people in attendance. He was remembered nicely and rec'd a lot of great Birthday-boy attention. He loved the ribs and just picked up the half rack and ate it like a giant corn on the cob...it was cute. Many remarked that he looked a lot taller and was so happy and well-adjusted. They had fun swimming and his cake was half choc with choc frosting and half white with white frosting...choc ice cream per his request. We decided to have a BIG Party this year bc of all the changes he's had recently...next year will be a basic kids party. :-) Today he brought homemade choc chip cookies to school...couldn't do that in most places.

Tom is still super sick. He's made some improvements...but, he's had strep since the Sunday b4 St. Patty's Day. He was first on Amoxicillin, then Cephalixin (sp?) and now Levaquin. Levaquin is super expensive...even w/ insurance it was $95 for 7 pills. Today they took a 24 hour culture and if he isn't feeling better by Wed they want him to see an ENT. The Dr. said he may have to get a Tonsillectomy.

That's crazy. Tom, why are you so immmune to all these drugs? Get better!

Don't you mean a TOMsillectomy?

Anonymous said...

Levaquin is supposed to kill everything. Hopefully it will work.
I was on it a couple of weeks ago.
So you think it's because he took antibiotics for so long after he had rheumatic fever? Did he become immune?
Monica

When did he have rheumatic fever?

5TH GRADE

...about a week b4 he contracted strep...he had an infection in his face and was placed on antibiotics. The same thing happened to him about a year ago. His lip got super puffy and it traveled up his face...towards his eye. He caught it right away (this time) 'cuz he recognized the symptoms immediately. The Doctor last year and last month...didn't know what caused it nor what it was.

I can see better with my glasses if I turn them upside-down and backwards!

Being married for 35 years is not a small feat.

..the last two nights he had to take 3 Benadryll just so he could sleep. He hasn't slept well the last 2 weeks.

Really Tom, that sounds awful. I hope you feel better soon. DO you drink plenty of fluids (not beer) and take a daily vitamin? An apple a day, you know.

COngrats and Happy ANniversary to Mary and Mike. 35 years is quite impressive.

And of course, happy birthday to Donny. It sounds like you had a great time.

Tom, stay home and sleep.

Emily, when do you return?

Anonymous said...

Hmmmm....maybe this isn't all bad. I mean they say the trains in National Socialist Germany ran effiently and on time.

I guess I'm feeling little better.
