Happy Birthday, Mom. I wanna be just like you when I grow up. You're amazing.

Happy Birthday Cathy,
You going to Chuck-E-Cheese?

Thank you. Maybe King Kong for a gyro. So far I've been fortifying the house and grounds against the coming invasion and sweeping broken walnut shells off the patio so they don't puncture the pool.

Happy Birthday Cathy! You're taking kids this week? Can I send over one two year old?

As long as you understand my policy of benign neglect.

Fish tacos are HUGE sellers at many restaurants in Omaha...you should try 'em!

Hey ya'll - Josh and I are going to Florida from August 5-10 for an interview and maybe two interviews (otherwise he'll go back two weeks later) and to check out three different cities. Does anyone want a free place to stay in st. paul for a nice little getaway? You'd just have to keep it clean for showings, and feed our cats.

Say...is it just me or does the sound of a gentle rain remind anyone else of urine splashing in a filthy Texaco latrine?

Tom,

It's not just you.

So...we can't call our mexican extravaganza, "Taco Tuesday." It's not just tacos and it's gonna be on Wednesdays. Any ideas?

Anonymous said...

hmmm, you could call it Tex/Mex Waco Wednesday. have the wait staff dress up as ATF agents....

Habanero Hump Day...
Saucy Salsa Wednesday...
Mid-week Mexican Feast...
Taste of the Border Buffet...

Muchos munchos del Miercoles
Waddle-ahara Wednesday
Halisco Hump Day
Dos Equis y tu Madre
South-of-the-Border 'Stravaganza, Lucy!
"WEDNESDAY! (ensday, ensday!) is FIESTA NIGHT at SISTER SARAH'S! (arah's!, arah's!)" done in that stentorian Mexican announcer guy voice with frenetic fiesta music in the background...or...
Why don't you have a Canadian night instead?

I forgot to say "eh?" at the end.

Happy Birthday Cathy.
Hope you enjoy your birthday week, although it sounds more like a birthday week for Grace and Ryan. What are they up to this week? You should do something spooky to the kids so they'll never want to come stay at your house without parents along.

We had a great dinner (at Losole Mio) with Mom and Dad to celebrate Cathy's birthday...however she and Stevo had already had a birthday dinner...so, they came for drinks and dessert...it was fun. I had just come back from Algona, (nice visit with Joe, Tom and Nance)...
Mike flew to Chicago to see Phelan perform , and staying at Desmond's and Caitlin is down at KU helping her friend find an apartment, so I'm home alone...oh...I better keep packing...Mike's done alot already...maybe I'll just go to bed!!!

Phelan's show was great. But they didn't even go on until 1.30AM. Needless to say, the band members were a little toasted by the time they took the stage. It made for good energy though. My dad and I didn't even make it back to my place until around 4.

Watch Dune on HD.

We watched, "Supergator," on SciFi last night...as a family. A must see. It was soooooooooo bad it was good. Almost every gal/victim was hot and bikini clad...something, of which, did not go unnoticed by our boys. :-<> :-)

Pat, if you don't find anybody to house sit, give me a call towards the end of the month. I think Joe is working yet that week, but Betty and I might be able to go up for two or three nights right in the middle of the time you are gone. She might enjoy hitting a couple of museums, etc. Oh, yes, and the mall. She is getting to that age where shopping is so very important. Where in FL are you going? I LOVE Florida. Especially Pensacola/Panama City area. It still gets sweater weather there Jan-Feb, and is just beautiful the rest of the time. Well, humid, but that's anywhere south.

Thanks Kelli. I'll let you know. We're in a great location for exploring the cities.
Josh has interviews for sure in Boca Raton and Miami Beach. There is a possible interview in Clearwater. I've not been to any of these places, though I know cost of living in Clearwater is the cheapest of the three. The Boca job would be the best career opportunity.
