Happy Birthday Monica (a couple hours early)...Are you guys going to Notre Dame this weekend? In case you are...Caitlin's phone# is 402-301-1572, maybe you can get together before or after the game...downtown South Bend almost connected to the Holiday Inn is an awesome pub called the Fiddler's Hearth with great food and live music...packed on Friday night, but not so after the game. Be sure to go to the McFadden tailgater!

Notre Dame will win-win

So the Mets won the first game with their 4th best pitcher against the Dodger’s best pitcher! Way to go METS! It will be interesting to see which team has better celebrities cheering for them. Last night the Mets had:

John McEnroe
Ray Ramano and
Tim Robbins.

I didn’t see Jerry Seinfeld. And Ginger Kid hero Ron Howard was in the stands, but he is a Dodger fan.

Gingers have no souls.

Ginger is another name I will not use for my child. Cinnamon either.

This is why I don't like to have my picture taken.

I'm painting my kitchen today. Kind of a ginger color.

I love my new contacts. Put two drops in each eye when I get up and I'm good to go for the day. Almost as good as lasik.

Our "Bug Guy's" name is Channon and his wife's name is Cinnamon.

Happy Birthday to all the Octobers. Your birthstone is opal, one of my favorites. Pat, I met a kid yesterday who I swore told me his name was Ron Jeremy. Turns out he was Ron Kirby. So don't pick any names that even SOUND like bad names when mumbled by an irritated teenager.
Or just raise a kid that speaks clearly and makes eye contact with adults when they ask him his name...

Can't always teach those things...I have tried. Two kids in speech and one that averts his eyes.
Still trying!

I have to say, empirically speaking, and based on the posted photos, that the October children are strikingly good looking. This despite the fact that the Blog Dictators unceasingly try to find unflattering images. Beauty, class, intelligence, etc., all these qualities just spill out of the photos. Just an observation.
Happy Birthday Monica!

happy b-day to Monica & all the other October celebrants. I want to thank those who wished me well. I think my b-day should be moved to the first monday in october and declared a national holiday so I could have the day off.

Kudos to Pat on her upcoming tax exemption. I'd offer some unsolicited advice but it looks like that's been covered.

Hope to get hooked up with the Jayjacks in Ames this weekend. Kathy, do you have a cell phone? Steve gave me Molly's #. Will that work this saturday?

In case you are watching the news, we are not part of the mandatory evacuation area in Apex due to the chemical fire. And we are all fine. However, we are right on the edge of the mandatory evacuation area, and winds can shift. So I am taking the day off, we're pulling the kids out of school and we are heading to the hills. We will get a hotel somewhere and make a weekend out of it.

Just wanted you all to know as we will be out of touch for a day or two.

Oh, happy birthday everybody!

P. Rose said...

I just emailed wondering about you. Glad you are ok, and I b et the kids are excited by the impending danger...

Anonymous said...

Okay, who gave Jim a chemistry set for Christmas?
It appears to me that Jim and Erin may not have been as vigilent as necessary in their anti-terrorist monitoring.

Anonymous said...

Also, I suspect that the recent blog difficulties show the extent of the terrorist onslaught. This, to me, sounds more likely than technical incompetence on the part of our great heroic and patriotic blog leaders.

LaVelles, Straubs and Jayjacks will be doing their anti-terrorist patriotic duty at the Iowa State/Nebraska game this weekend. The grilling will be at Ellen's so we can watch (surveil) the Notre Dame game as well. Monica, wear your secret signal pink hat - we'll watch for you to make sure everything's OK.
