Khat is the latest worry for police officers in the Twin Cities. We have such a large Somali population. I want some.
ABOUT THE DRUG
What is khat? It's an evergreen shrub and grows to about 10 feet.
How is it used? Fresh leaves and stems are chewed to reduce appetite, increase alertness and induce euphoria.
Contents: Cathine and cathinone, which mimic the effects of amphetamines. Khat can be habit-forming.
Legality: Khat is illegal in the United States and Canada but is permitted in parts of Europe, eastern Africa and the Arabian peninsula.
Medicinal uses: Asthma, diabetes, lethargy and stomach ailments.
Side effects: While researchers debate whether the drug is physically addictive or simply habit-forming, khat has been associated with side effects ranging from depression to hyperactivity, anorexia, insomnia and impotence.

It's good for diabetes and it helps you loseweight. What's the downside?

Pat-I can't shake this Chuckie Cheese thing. Do your friends have kids and that's why the party was at CC? I never heard of adults going to CC without kid pressure. I don't know why, it just seems weird for childless adults to have a buy-your-own-pizza birthday party at CC. Did they get special hats and free tokens?
I already have insomnia, and as for impotence...can't happen.

Stop thinking about the CC party. It was dumb. Everyone was there but wondering why they were at chuckie cheese. we all bought presents for them and then our own meals and refreshements. Actually maybe it was genius. they didn't have to do a thing not even clean the house and they got loot! Note to you all....never have a party at chuckie cheese for yourself.
