Happy Birthday Oscar! We had his party yesterday and he deemed it the "best party ever". (3 year olds are so easy to please) but the weather and the company were great! Here he is mowing with his new Bubble Mower in his new cowboy boots and of course a Zorro mask.
It was a perfect fall day - sunny but cool enough for fall clothes out on the deck. But I forgot to go in the bouncy house.
I mentioned some stuff that had been left at the farm, but I forgot to mention that we are missing an air mattress that was over by the TV in a recyclable grocery bag. If anyone has it, just let me know - there's no hurry about getting it.
I have it....I told Dad it was mine and so he brought it home for me...too many things to keep track of!!
Happy Birthday Oscar...you look very powerful! My mower doesn't doesn't blow bubbles, but it does smoke alot! I think i'll wear a mask the next time I mow.
Ellen, I am planning to be there for the tailgating and maybe game. Need to get back to Council Bluffs Sunday morning first thing though. Lisa may be meeting some college friends in Des Moines that afternoon as well.
I hear that the cyclone "jumbo" screen is so big you can watch the game comfortably all the way out to the tailgating area!
Happy birthday, Oscar! And a belated happy birthday to Andy. Looks like everyone is having fun birthdays. Oscar sure looks older. Finn's favorite new word is "thingy." everything he doesn't know the name of is a thingy. Even some things he knowsmthe names of. Like truck thingy or ball thingy.
And one more funny thing...in our church the crucifix behind the altar is suspended from the ceiling with chains. A few weeks ago Sam pointed at it and shouted, " it looks like that guy is parachuting!". Later that day I took the kids to the mall and talked to them about how to behave. The told me things like Don't ask for stuff. Don't run. Don't grab everything. And then Jude said, "and don't try to sneak away with anything in your pockets." I was kind of puzzled by that one.
A woman from Algona just died after a long sickness, some of you may have known her...she graduated from Garrigan in 1991, Sara Frankl. She was a writer and had a blog about her disease. She had a HUGE following around the world on her blog, and her funeral was braodcast live on the blog this morning...the address for the blog is...www.gitzengirl.blogspot.com
Everyone have fun at the Iowa state game this weekend. Frank is running the marathon on Sunday, so wish him well. It turns out the course goes by a few blocks from my house so we will be able to see him at around mile 9 and then we will drive over and meet him at the finish in St.Paul.

I bounced in the Bounce House with Oscar right before we packed it up to return it. It was great exercise, and great fun!
Happy Birthday Oscar, sorry we had to miss it!
Who is coming for the Straub family Iowa State tailgating? We have room if anyone need to stay here.

Mike just talked to Amy Frankl and she told him that Sara's website had 1.5 million hits yesterday!

Emily...what time of day?
I believe the race starts at 8 and frank said he's aiming to finish in about 4 hours I think. Do you wanna come?
You guys should come up tomorrow early in the day. Mike and Scott can fight us over who gets the better tv because our games are on at the same time.
Ohhhh that sounds fun, but we have to work Band Day...do you realize 5,000 people come to town for band day?
I found a website where you can track runners in the TC marathon. Right now Frank is running 9.59 pace, and has run about 8 or 9 miles.
I am so very, very glad that's over. Now I can get fat again.
