Happy Birthday Emma! Hope you have a great day. Go make a mud pie or fingerpaint your picture. Ask for nachos and root beer for lunch. Also, cartoons all day seem like good preparation for school.
FYI! Sunday was moving day for Dad, from the courthouse to Joe's office...thank goodness for Joe4, the desk was huge! Dad's been busy setting up his new office, it's looking pretty nice! ALSO...Mom has a new dog! It's a German Shep.mix, all white (and looks all German Shep) very nice dog, mellow and likes air conditioning and short walks, Mom has named her Lady...Lady gets a spa treatment today at Pet Kingdom!
Emma was surprised to see all her birthday wishes on the computer! She and Mary were even more surprised that it was Molly who put Emma's picture on Daddy's computer.
They both especially liked all the advice on what animal to buy.
When I asked Emma what she wanted for her birthday dinner she said, "uuummm. How about noodles with carrots and peas and green beans or string beans?" So...
We went to Hu Hut Mongolian Grill where Emma ate each of her rice noodles one by one with chopsticks.
When we finally got home for cake and presents Emma happily opened up: a Jonas Brothers cd, a new outfit complete with a plaid, rhinestoned encrusted headband, new shoes (she asked for 'em), and books.
Then we all ate white cake with white frosting and strawberries and danced to the Jonas Brothers.
Today Emma is wearing almost of the options of her new outfit and her new shoes (brown & pink with a strap). She hugged me about 50 times.
Happy belated birthday, Emma! Sorry I missed seeing you while I was in town, but I will see you and Mary in a few weeks! I like to eat with chopsticks, too. Asian food tastes better that way.
Where is Dad's office in Joe's building? Is it pretty much done? Did all the books come over? I remember when he bought the rug for his office in the parking lot outside Fuddrucker's. Did that rug go to the new office? Lady and I have a lot in common - mellow, likes air conditioning and short walks. I can't wait to meet her. Come to think of it, I could use a spa treatment too.
Hey, Dad, if you get America online, what did you think of that open letter to Obama?
Tonight is "Mulligan Stew" night in St.Joe...they serve 550 gallons of hot stew on a hot hillside to most of Kossuth County...Sunday was Bossie Bingo at the Whittemore Legion, BBQ Chicken and sweet corn, beer and betting on where Bossie will dump!
Cathy, so sorry -I'll mail the card today. My family will be at the wedding, so that's Scott and me and Jude and Sam for part of the time. I suppose the caterer doesn't need to know about Sam. Does he/she need to know about Jude?
Yeah, we have a kids' price. It's also good to know (in terms of reserving tables) that you might need a seat for Sam's chair. I can't wait to see them! Still haven't found a dress (mostly because I haven't looked.)
Today I was driving back from a meeting in Neola and on NPR's "The Story" there was a wedding DJ telling wedding toast and drunken reception horror stories. Yikes.
Restaurant review: If you haven't tried the new McDonald's chicken biscuit breakfast sandwich, don't bother. And unless my local McDonald's was having a bad day, they have subtly changed the hash brown patty so it is now slightly mushy and has lost that wonderful crunch. I don't know whether to be sad or relieved. On those rare occasions when I would drive through for breakfast, the siren call of the hash brown patty would crumble all my willpower so that in the space of one car length I would abandon my stouthearted resolution to just get the McMuffin and go for the whole value meal, even adding two creams to my coffee. Maybe it's better this way. Thank you McDonalds. Curse you!
I only eat mcdonalds when traveling. I find it too addictive, especially the mcmuffins. I think they put narcotics in them. SO GOOD. Taco Bell is my fast food of choice. p
Who shall Tom vote for? Hmmmmmm, he's at Gullwing Lake right now but when he returns maybe he'll be a Democrat. Shall he vote for the gut he fed or for the guy who can't count (houses).
I love McD's coffee too. And Sweet Tea. And the dollar menu. I eat lunch for less than $3 all the time there. They have 2 salads on the dollar menu plus the McChicken and you get two items and an ice water and it's a decent lunch for the change in your console. I hate McDonald's, though. Evil. This is my last weekend of sweet freedom before school starts. What to do, what to do?
